Missie Shealey Pookie Lookie

Sunday’s guest is Missie Shealey began her journey from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then to Atlanta Georgia and attended Paine College in Augusta, GA and is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After attending school she spent 23 years as a Wardrobe Specialist. Missie worked for high end retailers such as St. John boutique, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. She is also a contributing writer for the Onyx Woman Magazine, online.

A major accomplishment for Ms. Shealey’s was having her children’s storybook published. It’s called “Pookie Lookie, the Pink Spotted Panda Bear”. It’s a wonderful story that teaches children about love, diversity and self acceptance. Ms. Shealey has also created a Pookie Lookie mascot. The mascot encourages education and fun through “Pookie Lookie Pow Wow Parties’ held at schools, churches and birthday parties.

Missie’s spirit is full of joy, inspiration, and she has a wonderful way of relaying that child like spirit when reading and describing ‘Pookie Lookie’. When I spoke to Missie I told her I returned to a place that made me feel like a child in the library enjoying story time again. So, spread the news and take sometime to ‘come to me as unto a child’ again.

So, sit back relax have a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine and enjoy some good conversation and music.
