The Campaign of Armageddon - The Little Apocalypse of Zechariah

In this study we examine a brief segment of End Times Controversy; The Second Coming Under Attack edited by Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice. The book seeks to establish a Dispensational interpretation of the Little Apocalypse in Zechariah. The author of that segment, Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum takes the approach that the prophecy refers to the modern state of Israel. 

Some assumptions which he makes is that the "sheep" who are scattered upon the smitten Shepherd (Christ) refer without qualification to the nation of Israel. In other words, he does not see this as a reference to the church.
