Hello William. The thousand years, according to Rev. 20, are not on the earth. They're following Christ's appearing (Second Coming) and represent the time when the saints will be judging angels (1 Cor. 6:3). Following the thousand years, the new Jerusalem will descend and settle on earth (Rev. 21:2). The wicked will be resurrected, only to be deceived once more by Satan (Rev. 20:8-9) into attempting to attack the new Jerusalem (battle of Gog and Magog). God will then rain down hell-fire to destr
