The Holy Spirit is the agent of Santification. The Word Sanctify means to set apart. An example of being set apart is setting apart china from the dishes that you use everyday. God has set us apart from sin and evil to be used by Him unto good works that He has already ordained.
We don't have to wait to die to become saints we are already saints in Christ Jesus. It is not by our good works that we become saints. It is Holy Spirit who causes us to be Sanctified and made Saints in Christ Jesus.
