Glenn Simmons, (better known as Logik, in 3rd person) is a spoken word artist who melds his upbringing, world history, and science into an artistic amalgam that can only be described as “Enchanting!” . Logik has performed as a member of poetry slam teams and as a featured artist in cafes, on radio shows, and at universities across the country. He began his writing career while a student in Tampa and continued to embrace the call to poetry as he moved on from Florida to Tennessee. In Nashville, Logik became an active part of the art movement and mentored many young poets during his time there. In 2008, Logik was named the Male Spoken Word Artist of the Year by the SoulFood Poetry Café, the longest ongoing poetry venue in middle Tennessee. In 2010 and 2011, he coached the Mid-South Youth Poetry slam team at the International Youth poetry slam, Brave New Voices. Logik has also been an artist-in-residence with the Metro-Nashville Public School System and served as a poet mentor with YouthSpeaks Nashville for several years. Additionally, Logik has recorded a highly acclaimed spoken/music compilation called “Raider of the Lost Art” that is available on iTunes and Amazom.com.
