Happy Valentines Day!!!!!! I am so happy to be here!Beautiful ones..after a 2 week hiatus,I am BACK!!!!!! I am absolutely in love with Joy Jones' music!!!!! I am thrilled to have her at my house...You will be too...Whaat??? You didn't know? JOY JONES is the TRUTH!!!!! Please join us,this Sunday at Epiphany's house..where artists meet... What Joy Jones does with music is nothing short of musical alchemy. What results is an offering of her work as an anthropologist and scienti...st, her world travels and her musical heritage. Although from Trinidadian heritage, Joy was raised in Los Angeles. Growing up, Joy Jones sang in church and later nurtured an interest in spoken word and song writing. After graduating, she moved to London and was moved by the fact so many people were making a living from their creativity. While there she started working with Bugz in the Attic and was mentored by Daz-I-Kue which gave her many of the skills that she used to sculpt her debut full length, Godchild (due out in July 7, 2009). Joy Jones hopes that listeners of her new album will be touched by its messages and themes: “I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I want to say and the messages I want to put out. This is a labor of love and I hope that it translates and transforms into a tool for change. This journey to LP has largely been due to divine choreography, fabulous blessings and good folks. I am constantly amazed at the trajectory.” Afro-beat lullabies, future jazz/soul, protest songs and electronic hymns – expect all of this and more from the Joy Jones album so be prepared to have your ears and mind opened to new experiences
