ENVISION THIS:  A free and accessible place to exchange books among neighbors

Our guest, Rick Brooks, is co-founder with Todd Bols of Little Free Library, http://www.littlefreelibrary.org/.  Rick has been a long time supporter of literacy, social empowerment, youth and community development.  He works to promote the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide, and build a sense of community by sharing books across generations and among neighbors.

Rick and Todd both have several decades of entrepreneurial and international experience. They first met in 2009 while exploring the benefits of green practices in small businesses, discovering that they shared a commitment to service and the quality of community life around the world.

Their staff and consultants are builders, artists, stewards, book donors, borrowers, neighbors and friends. They are the hardworking "us," and you're definitely part of the picture.

Yes, YOU are invited to become stewart of a Little Free Library on your front lawn, down at the corner, in front of a business or a school in your neighborhood or wherever it would be accessible for people to give and take books.  They even send you a box of free books when you register a new neighborhood library.

Their conservative estimate of Little Free Libraries currently active in the world is over 5,000 in 36 countries. They estimate than at least 1,650,000 books were donated and borrowed between January, 2010 and today.
