ENVISION THIS... A jointly owned, democratically controlled enterprise, in which people unite voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations

Our guest is Jane Livingston, a member of Cooperative Maine, promoting and supporting cooperative enterprise development. She has been actively working for the cooperative economic sector for 18 years, in the US regionally  and nationally, and also in Canada . She will be explaining what the “cooperative economic difference” is and why cooperatives represent good, sound economics especially in these times.

Cooperatives use a multiple bottom line accounting system, measuring success by secial and environmental as well as financial measures.  They recycle money through the local economy, create quality jobs, and promote democratic decision making and stronger communities.
