Another sunny day in Los Angeles, another broadcast of the Empty Nesters Show where we explore the journey that is life. Today we were joined by Kelly Corrigan, author of the New York Times best seller The Middle Place. Kelly's memoir was profiled in the January issue of O, the Oprah Magazine. You may have seen Kelly reading her essay "Transcending: Words on Women and Strength" on You Tube.

Her moving tome is about the time in life where one is caught between childhood and adulthood, still needing the sense of support from parents, while taking responsibility for children of one's own.
Kelly has been a book group favorite. Our own book group has been together for nearly ten years. Today we recommended the book The Double Bind by Chris Bohjalian paired with the American classic,
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. We've been busy at the movies recently viewing Defiance, Waltz with Bashir and Rachel Getting Married. All recommended for our audience, but maybe it's time for some lighter fare like the upcoming He's Just Not That Into You. Super Bowl Sunday is just a few days away. Neither of us has a team in the game, but the halftime entertainment, Mr. Springsteen, The Boss himself, is reason to watch. We pondered over how the highly anticipated commercials will play out in the current economic climate.
Exciting guests coming up in February to coincide with Heart Month- a world class cardiologist from Cedars Sinai Medical Center and John La Puma, Chef MD, and author of The Big Book of Culinary Medicine.
Join us live on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. PST or listen to the archived shows at your convenience. As always, your comments are most appreciated.
