Empty Nesters  

Life is full of surprises and today was no exception.  Claudia found out at about 10:20AM that our scheduled guest, C. Noel Bairey Merz, MD, FACC, a specialist in women's cardiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, was unable to appear.  AHHHHHHHHHH.  Well, Claudia worked some magic and Dr. Ilana Cass, a gynecologist/oncologist from Cedars Sinai, rode to the rescue. The only slight problem was our preparation to discuss one part of the body but we quickly changed gears to focus on very different, but equally important medical issues.  We also had our first on-air phone call from a friend of Jill's.  Our caller initially wanted to discuss women and heart disease but to show that stars are sometimes in alignment, she regrouped within seconds and asked some great questions of Dr. Cass, who was absolutely amazing and spoke in language all of us could understand.  I hope all of our listeners take the opportunity to listen to our archived show and learn about the latest research in women's health.  One of my favorite sayings is that "people plan and G-d laughs".  Today was an apt display of that wisdom, but we are happy how it all fell into place.
