Roslyn Brewer, a 23 year old foster care counselor that works for Youth Villages helps many children & families that are struggling to feel emotionally stable and have experienced difficult experiences. Though these families & children have experienced so many different types of life stressors & issues, Roslyn has experienced her own. Roslyn experienced many setbacks & hardships in her life from an emotionally abusive relationship in high school that caused her to have other bad relationships with men throughout college. Roslyn also experienced a massive stroke because of a blood clot in her brain and two seizures that caused her to be taken out of college for a semester. The stroke did not have a significant affect on her body but doctors stated that she should not be mobile like she was. During that time, Roslyn was able to begin building her relationship with God and finding out who he was for herself. With the help of her mother and influential people that have come into her life, Roslyn has been able to know the true meaning of grace and God’s healing power. She is now applying to the Peace Corps to do service work overseas to help children in other countries.
