Catch Your Spirit with Virani Ramsden of Finding Happiness

Catch Your Spirit welcomes Virani Ramsden from the film Finding Happiness.  Virani was born Jacquelyn (Jackie) Jacobs, in San Diego, CA.  Wanting 
to be the best at something- anything- at age 21 she roller skated across the United States, and was in the Guinness Book of World Records, 1980.
After a few years of college, she became a Deputy Sheriff for 22 years. 
 

Virani was always afraid of blowing it, and found the whole deputy thing stressful, but then she read "Autobiography of a Yogi" and discovered the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. She learned how to meditate, and this helped her find an inner calmness which helped in her job, as well as giving her a purpose for her life. When she retired from law enforcement in 2002, she moved to Ananda Village to be in a spiritual environment that would support her highest aspirations. 

She's done many things since moving to Ananda, but the most joyful has been starting Yogoata, a part of Ananda Farms, and helping our self-sustaining efforts at the village. She's been doing that for 5 years, and it has been the biggest blessing of her life.
