Emini Trader  

Remember KING? Yes, I mentioned it yesterday. I said that it was not a trading system. Not an emini trading system, that is. I said that it was an emini trading methodology.

So what's the difference, you may ask. Well, clearly the two are not the same. Otherwise I would not bother with a much longer name, like "methodology."

The thing is that a trading system is something that is supposed to have been systematically tested on a decent data sample from the past. It's even better if this thing has been subjected to live testing. Or even on a simulator, but using some forward data, and not some data from the past. A totally new set of data, that is. Now, what this really means is that this thing needs to be totally objective. Or else you cannot really test it.

How is this different from a trading method? A trading method does not need to be tested, which means that it can be subjective, something that you believe you can make work.

An emini trading methodology is thus simply a collection of trading methods that you can apply to trading emini markets. To trading YM, or ES, or TF, or NQ, to name just the most popular emini futures.

That's about it, although I would like to point out that KING can also be used for trading other instruments. Not just emini futures, but also Forex, for instance. And, in principle, also stocks. And it should be remembered that it is a daytrading methodology.
