What is love? From the spiritual and inner point of view, love is self expansion. Human love binds and is bound. Divine Love expands, enlarges itself. Here we are dealing with the Divine Love.--Sri Chinmoy. Love is long suffering, love is kind, it is not jealous, love does not boast, it is not inflated. It is not discourteous, it is not selfish, it is not irritable, it does not enumerate the evil. It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices in the truth. It covers all things, it has faith for all things, it hopes in all things, it endures in all things. WHAT? ALL THINGS? So how do we reconcile oppression, hate, tragedy and many of the other unenlightened responses to our nature to love? Is there a difference between eros, agape and phileo? "What the world needs now is love sweet love...not for some but for everyone." We have the capacity to love and be loved.
