NO DOUBT! Straight Up Open Mic and Commentary

We seem so caught up in capitalism that we have lost sight of other forms of capital. It is impossible to account for the structure and functioning of the social world unless one reintroduces capital in all its forms and not solely on the one form recognize, perpetuated, institutionalized and spread through the media by economic theory. Once we have bought in to the historic invention of capitalism and its definition, we reduce the universe of exchange to mercantile exchange, which is objectively and subjectively oriented towards the maximization of profit, self interest and thus defines other forms of exchange as non-economic and therefore disinterested. I don't have all of the answers but we certainly need to talk about the constructs from which we tend to operate and govern our day-to-day lives. We want your opinion. What are we missing? You can't blame it all on the youth, the teachers, the Republicans...what is the answer? Where are we missing the mark? These and other topics will be discussed.
