ElectionU is a social network that also strives to provide the American public with links to their politicians and the issues that matter to them. In 2006 two young Americans became frustrated with how political campaigns in the U.S. were run. They found it difficult to discover what each person really stood for and researching each candidate and issue became cumbersome. They also noticed that the number of young adults, ages 18-30, was not turning out to vote at the polls in the numbers they should be. So they created ElectionU to change the face of American politics and make it easier for the average American to educate themselves on who is running, what each politician stands for, what the issues are, and get involved in the political process. ElectionU also hopes to spark free open debates about political issues that are shaping our nation today and create a free resource for politicians to use and manage their campaigns to cut down on the increasing costs they incur while running for office. Voters across the United States have to search out what issues are on the ballot, what positions are up for election, and who is running for what office, as well as what each candidate stands for. TV ads and debates often turn into mudslinging and leave voters confused on the candidate’s true platform. ElectionU has set out to change this by giving voters one website with all the information they could need. Simply by clicking on their state and soon their voting district, voters will be able to find out everything and everyone they could vote for in the next election. Then with a quick click of the mouse will be linked to each candidate’s or issue’s ElectionU page, everything easily accessible in one spot to create an informed electorate. ElectionU also offers ElectionU News, balanced views of stories and news feeds collected from sources on both sides of the political spectrum. It offers a free public forum for debates, links to voter registration, and ways to contac
