Call in to speak with the host
James Toseland is a double World Superbike champion on both a Ducati and a Honda.
He also raced in MotoGP for Yamaha where he describes the fun of catching and passing MotoGP world Champion Valetino Rossi. Following his retirement and his recent engagement to Katie Melua he is now pursuing a career in music as a talented musician and vocalist.
In this episode he chooses his favourite songs from a diverse group of artists including Guns and Roses, Katie Melua and Eric Clpaton. Before each track he talks of the moments that he associated with each song including sitting by the bedside of his dying friend following a motorcycle racing crash, his realisation that as Katie Melua sang a song live stage aimed at him that he knew that as Katie sang Call off The Search to him that his search for the love of his life had also ended.
In this episode he talks of how Katie helped him to come to terms with his racing career ending due to injury and how he was also there by her side through her problems of late.
It is a frank ,open and honest look into one of the worst years of his life and also the best year. The worst is his forced retirement from racing and the best his proposal to Katie Melua and her acceptance.
Now the couple are in the process of planning the wedding and James talks of the plans and his involvement on the plans, including the news of his biggest sponsor’s involvement.
It's good to talk.
