    WHO GON CHECK MI BOO?

    in Education

In the Gospel of Matthew, an alternative for "an eye for an eye" is given by Jesus: 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.I had to count on your pride. To lie, steal, deceive, and ultimately mislead me N2 your arms. I knew eventually the real you would appear. So I set the bait, and smiled when you made awful jokes. Opened up when you prod and poked. Concealing my desire to vomit from your unabashed arrogance. Often time I wondered if you even listened to the words that you released. Yet I continued to hide shame and disgust. I even smelled your jealousy no perfume can hide that musk.
MY DADDY TRAINED ME WELL, He said – Daughter Nvite your guest WE would love to meet him.  – I bowed before Daddy King and walked to the outer gates to go get the prideful one. Be4 we returned to the Royal Court my handmaidens approached and requested my presence behind the veil. I briefly looked back as we walked away and I shivered. JUDAH #tribalarrival My Daddy King and HIS PRIDE arrived to meet mr pride halfway. I never seen mr. pride again and for that I say fare thee well.
    Proverbs 16:18 (KJV)
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
In the Gospel of Matthew, an alternative for "an eye for an eye" is given by Jesus: 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

CJP Training Series - New Federal Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Regulations

    in Education

New Federal Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Regulations Overview
    Presented by Adrian Smith, J.D.
Adrian Smith, J.D. will provide an overview of the new Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) regulations which took effect on December 12, 2016.  The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), 25 U.S.C. §§ 1901-1963, was enacted in 1978 in response to a crisis affecting Indian children, families and Tribes. Studies revealed that large numbers of Indian children were being separated from their parents, extended families, and communities and placed in non-Indian homes. Through ICWA, Congress established minimum federal standards to be applied in state child custody proceedings. ICWA requires state courts to utilize these federal standards to determine almost all of key issues that must be decided in child custody proceedings–when a child can be removed or parental rights terminated, what constitutes consent to adoption, and placement of the child in both adoption and foster care proceedings. Compliance with these requirements has been uneven across the country and certain provisions have been interpreted differently from one state to another. For that reason, the Department of Interior issued new guidelines clarifying how the Act should be applied and binding regulations have now been issued. The presentation will provide information about key sections of the new regulations, with a focus on the definition of active efforts, requirements for a qualified expert witness, notice requirements and application of the existing Indian family exception.

Crossing over into the World of Interracial Dating

    in Education

    PRO: LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT CULTURES
Dating someone of a different race may allow you to experience a new culture, which may involve different rituals, food, religion or family structure. You may also learn new perspectives from your partner. These new experiences can help you become more open-minded and reduce your conscious and subconscious stereotypes. They can also challenge your beliefs and ideas, which leads to personal growth. However, don't make assumptions that a person of a certain race necessarily participates in cultures associated with that race.
    PRO: BREAKING STEREOTYPES
Dating someone of a different race gives you and your partner opportunities to break negative stereotypes about your respective races. Providing a counterexample to ignorant and hateful stereotypes helps others become more open-minded and accepting.
CON: REACTIONS OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Your family and friends may be uncomfortable with your partner for several reasons. For example, they may believe negative stereotypes about certain races or feel uncomfortable interacting with people who are different from them. Your family may worry that you might abandon your cultural heritage if you become committed to a person of a different race, or they may be concerned that your partner's family or friends won't accept you.
    CON: SOCIETY'S REACTIONS
Not only are you likely to experience some racism and stereotyping from your family and friends, you'll probably experience this in everyday society, too. People may be surprised to see you are a couple; they may treat you differently, judge you unfairly or make inappropriate comments.
