When Women talk do Men listen, If not why not?

Tonight we are talking about our ability to hear each other. Men sometimes say it is really hard to hear a Woman, why is that? What is it in our conversation that makes a Man switch off?

Now I don't want to claim that men are always the problem -- or that they are even more likely to be the problem than women are. No group is innocent, no group is perfect. But what is it Men hear that seems to put them of from listening to someone they claim to like or love? Do we communicate differently to men and how do we bridge the gap between ourselves? Do Women listen to Men or we still battling for our space on the planet? Do we as Women understand that Men may not do small talk? Do we always have to be right?
