The Big Apple-born rap star weighs in on the state of hip-hop. "The game has changed a lot. The industry is not taking the time that they used to - or they're not making the effort they used to to create and build artists," Ja Rule, who has sold more than 30 million records, tells The Knicks Blog host Anthony "Rice Balls" Donahue. "If a label's looking for the hot new single—and every label is lookin' for that—then that's all they're gonna get. So there's a lack of creativity and passion out there. A lot of artists really don't care about the music. They just want to see what it's like to make a lot of money and get a lot of chicks."
