      About Midnight Marquee

      When Gary J.Svehla was 13-years-old in 1963, an avid fan of Famous Monsters of Filmland, he decided to publish his own "fanzine," a carbon-copied mishmash where only 20 copies were circulated of issue one.

      Today, 41 years later, that original fanzine (Gore Creatures) has evolved into Midnight Marquee and is still going strong. And now, the venerable print magazine is available online.

      In 1995, Midnight Marquee became incorporated when it evolved into a small press publisher of books on films, focusing on (but not exclusive to) the horror film genre.  Midnight Marquee Press features a stable of the best historians and critics writing on movies today. The books feature over 100 photographs per book, indexes, bibliographies, filmographies, etc.

      As VP Publishing & Communications for Ripley Entertainment, Tim O’Brien is responsible for coordinating the publicity and promotion of the company’s 50-plus attractions throughout the world.  Serving as the corporate national spokesperson, Tim enthusiastically shares the Ripley product with the public through numerous TV and radio appearances.


      Prior to his position with Ripley Entertainment, Tim served as senior editor of Amusement Business, the world’s leading business trade magazine for the amusement park and attraction industries.
