Originally it was imagined this might happen 500 years from now. But scientists say it could happen far sooner than that. People need to be shaken out of their everyday indifference to the great emergency of our age: climate change. "The inactions of others can make us underestimate threats to our own safety."

      An American expatriot, freelance reporter and author of five books, including "My Excellent Adventures Selling Books from a Pushcart in the Night Markets of Taiwan." Was an editor for the Yomiuri Shimbun in Tokyo, The Taipei Times in Taiwan, and the Capital City Weekly in Juneau Alaska.       There is one notion essential to the 19th century “great game” to control India, it is known as conspiracy. Great Britain and Russia conspired against each other and drew the factions of Central Asia into their conspiracies.  Adherence to certain rules turned this fierce conflict into the“great game”.  However American policy and research does not recognize conspiracy theory. This makes many of their assessments and predictions simply wrong.
       
      Dr. Eugene Stovall will discuss why conspiracy theory helps explain current events. Dr. Stovall uses conspiracy theory to propel the drama in his two novels: “Frank Yerby: A Victim’s Guilt” and “Blood and Brotherhood: A Novel of Love in a Time of Hate".

      ABOUT DR. STOVALL

      Attended St. Mary's College. Served in the Air Force as a radio repairman. Studied the Swedish Ombudsman at the University of Lund, Sweden. Received a master's degree from the University of California, Davis based largely on Swedish research and given membership into the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society Omega Chapter in 1971. Received an undergraduate degree from the Political Science Department of the University of California at Berkeley in 1969,graduating magna cum laude. Received Ph.D. in Political Theory from the Political Science Department at the University of California Berkeley, passing orals with distinction.

      Born and raised in Oakland California he attended St. Joseph’s College studing for the Catholic priesthood.

      Worked for the California State Legislature in the Assembly Office of Research as well as the Assembly Government Organization Committee. Served as program coordinator for the Institute of Race and Community Relations located at the University of California. Worked in the corporate world as a manager for Pacific Bell and worked as the network coordinator in the technology services department of the Oakland Public Schools.Taught at USF, St. Mary’s College, San Francisco State University as well as at Merritt College and the University of Phoenix.
