  Iran hangs again "four men, woman convicted of murder"
  

  ran on Wednesday executed five people convicted of murder, including a woman, the Parleman News website reported. The five, four Iranians and one Afghan national, were hanged this morning in Tehran’s Evin Prison, said the website, which is affiliated with the minority fraction of Iran’s Majlis [parliament]. The woman, Soheila Qadiri, was convicted of killing her five-month-old child. The three other Iranians were identified as Ali Alami, Mehran [no last name given] and Mohammad Hossein [no last name given]. The Afghan national, who was said to have killed two other Afghans in Tehran and the central city of Esfahan, was identified as Lal Saeed. Murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking, adultery and apostasy are among the crimes punishable by death in the Islamic Republic. Last week, AFP reported that Iran has executed at least 237 people so far this year.
  
  
  Amnesty International said that Iran executed at least 346 people in 2008, second only to China. Iran’s population is 18 times smaller than that of China.
