He believes the U.S. will split into five distinct regions:
While Panarin's theory is often dismissed as a version of anti-Americanism coming back into vogue in Russia, he gained widespread attention after he published an article in Izvestia, one of Russia's largest daily newspapers.
The Wall Street Journal Panarin's map, below, to illustrate the break up of the U.S. into five distinct divisions.
"Americans hope President-elect Barack Obama "can work miracles," Panarin wrote, according to the Wall Street Journal. "But when spring comes, it will be clear there are no miracles."
"Panarin's theory is interesting, but, as WND Editor Joseph Farah has pointed out, not inevitable," Corsi wrote. "Still, the theory calls our attention once again to the growing influence of globalism in the United States where the interests of China, Canada, the EU, Mexico and others have increasingly exerted an economic influence upon our destiny."
China continues to finance U.S. budget deficits, including the new one proposed by Obama as an "economic rescue plan" certain to cost nearly $1 trillion.
The EU exerts a major influence on U.S. strategic thinking, and few Americans are aware that President Bush formed by executive order a Transatlantic Economic Council in April 2007, with a view to create a Transatlantic Union, perhaps as early as 2015.
Now Red Alert's author, whose books "The Obama Nation" and "Unfit for Command" have topped the New York Times best-sellers list, claims Panarin's analysis serves to remind Americans not only that globalism is proceeding at an unprecedented rate but also that the U.S. is now increasingly vulnerable to it, especially given its weakened economy and declining dollar.
Red Alert's Jerome Corsi received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in political science in 1972. For nearly 25 years, beginning in 1981, he worked with banks throughout the U.S. and around the world to develop financial services marketing companies to assist banks in establishing broker/dealers and insurance subsidiaries to provide financial planning products and services to their retail customers. In this career, Corsi developed three different third-party financial services marketing firms that reached gross sales levels of $1 billion in annuities and equal volume in mutual funds. In 1999, he began developing Internet-based financial marketing firms, also adapted to work in conjunction with banks.
In his 25-year financial services career, Corsi has been a noted financial services speaker and writer, publishing three books and numerous articles in professional financial services journals and magazines.
