THE HOSTS OF THE EMPOWERMENT HOUR ARE SPENDING THIS THANKSGIVING WEEKEND WITH THEIR FAMILIES

During this Holiday weekend we invite you to listen to 2 Empowering Episodes from the Archives

On the November 20th episode of the Empowerment Hour Online University we featured NYC Councilman and NY Gubernatorial Candidate Charles Barron as  we continue to ask

What Happened to the Freedom Party?

The Freedom Party finished last in the NY State Governors Race. Even though they  collected over 43,000 signatures, the party only received 20,718 votes preventing the party from gaining 50,000 seats and a position on the ballot for the next election cycle in 2012.

Mr. Barron and Mr. Eady will discuss what happened to the Freedom Party's support and if politics played a role in this vote count. We will also focus on what can be done to get people of color to understan d that their futures will be bleak without an organized powerful voice.

OUR NEXT ARCHIVED EPISODE IS FROM

June of this year

We feature the discussion of the May 22, 2009 murder of young, brilliant systems engineer Broderick Dixon by a black policeman in the suburbs of Birmingham. The Jefferson County DA is pursuing murder charges against Chevis Finley, a policeman on the Brighton police force, who is the alleged murderer. Finley allegedly shot the 27-year-old Dixon three times in the back while chasing him more than 500 yards around the large apartment complex where he had been induced to come at 3 a.m. The trial has been delayed four times already. Why? There is a woman of mystery believed by some of Dixon's family and close acquaintances to have been invol ved in setting him up for the murder.

Our featured guests will be Broderick Dixon's twin brother, Roderick Dixon, with whom he lived in Helena. Alabama; his mother, Deborah Dixon, and at least one witness to the events leading up to the murder. A number of other call-in guests are expected to tell what they know about the puzzling aspects of the murder of Broderick Dixon in Irondale, Alabama.

THIS TRIAL IS SCHEDULED TO START THIS UPCOMING MONDAY
