Twenty-two year old Jessica Disu aka FM Supreme is a Nigerian American, born and raised in Chicago, IL. She has been writing raps since she was ten years old and at fifteen she found her passion for performance and slam poetry. FM Supreme later became a 5x Finalist and 2x consecutive champion of “Louder Than A Bomb” Chicago’s citywide high school poetry slam festival. As a performance poet and teaching artist, FM Supreme has trained under Kevin Coval, Toni Asante Lightfoot (Cave Canem) Roger Bonair-Agard (Cave Canem), avery r young, Ugochi and other highly skilled prolific writers.
FM Supreme is also an events coordinator. She worked briefly at The Jane Addams Hull House Museum (University of IL) where she had the privilege of coordinating DJ Kool Herc (a Founder of Hip Hop) and Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown’s “funky drummer”) in a performance for which she opened the show with her own original music. FM Supreme has worked as talent manager for non profit organization, Young Chicago Authors. There she booked youth poets and performers for performances at the 2009 Taste of Chicago (Fun Stage), Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion Stage, and Brave New Voices Alumnus Open Mic (HBO/Chicago).

She is a social entrepreneur, culture critic, sports enthusiast, and community lover. Anna DeShawn is passionate about queer people of color, women, poverty, politics, and of course GOOD music.
