    AMERICAN ENTERTAINMENT

    HELLO, blogtalkradio viewers:
My past two posts were serious, so I decided to add a lighter blog. As described in my shows description, I will cover almost every topic relating to teens, meaning some serious, some funny, and some controversial.
American entertainment seems to have taken a huge turn since let's say the 1930's. We set the standard for the World. From India creating its own version of Hollywood, called Bollywood and Africa forming Nollywood America is THE trend setter.
Recently though, I personally have not understood what is going on in the music and movie business. Movies lately have been a repeat of a hundred other movies. You know what's going to happen, everything is predictable. It's almost as though Hollywood is running out of ideas. Someone suggested that 3-D is becoming so popular to make up for the lack of original story lines. Music is a completely story. I got into music in 2005. Before that I listened to music off and on, but had no idea who the top artists were and what type of music they played. I just knew either I like it or I didn't or everyone played it everywhere they went. If I think back to my younger years I remember listening to TLC's Waterfalls with my aunt and mom and K-Ci & JoJo's All my life. Then of course, Puff Daddy's (name at the time) I'll be missing you in honor of Notorious B.I.G. I remember when TRL was the show, my older step sister would always have it on along with Beavis & Butt-head and Daria. Now TRL is ancient, went off the air earlier this year and CD sells are almost non-existent.
Music today seems to have new rising stars and some old ones attempting to make comebacks, some better than others, but there aren't any artists that people cry over anymore or talk about at school. The music biz is about making a hit to play in the clubs, which all sound very similar, rather than how it will shape a generation or the effects it will have on listeners.
Television really isn't worth watching anymore which is why I think viewer numbers are down. Especially with all the other choices out there like listening to your IPOD, games etc. Reality TV which gets old is on almost every channel. For kids, I feel like all their shows either try too hard to be educational or they are just plain stupid, which explains the immaturity among youth.
Let me know what you think. Maybe with this topic I'll get some replies. LOL. Any way. Once again, if you have any topics you want me to cover let me know. My first official show Bray J on Dumont Air, debuts tomorrow at 10 p.m. Hope to see you there.
