Lebron vs Cle

by DTong Sports

 - Thu, Dec 2 2010

So the day is finally here, the moment all the Cavs fans have obnoxiously been waiting for. The day where Lebron James of the Miami Heat comes into the Q Arena and voluntarily accepts all the boos and ungrateful remarks that will be definitely spit his way (from the losers of course). The legend you were hoping would bring the city of Cleveland out of crumbles in professional sports and who you rooted so hard for to bring you a championship. The same man who you all felt needed to be built around in order to create a dominant franchise, but never got the necessary players to accomodate his style. The best centers you can find this guy were Big Z, Verajao, and a used up limited minutes Shaq. You could have gotten Bosh and brought him to CLE, or at least a center who is like KG or Superman who is ready to run the floor and dominate in transition. I don't even want to start on point guards, would be a waste of my breath and carpal tunnel for typing it all. There are a million better options than Mo Williams and Delante West. As the NFL crew would say, "C'mon Man!".

Anyway, back to what he gave Clevelanders. A nice arena, a ton more fans, crazy revenue for the city of Akron and the boys and girls club and numerous other charities. He clothed you with the jerseys you bought, gave you something to cheer for, and never asked you for anything, just tried to do his best to win for "your" city.

You all are a true meaning of the word FANATIC! (Now, Im only talking to Cle fans that are Lebron Haters, not true Cleveland Fans). Instead of rooting for a man to do well in his life and be great at what he does, you take this "ownership" of him and think he should be your savior for the remaining days of your life! All you can do is root as fan, and the only little control you have is at a live game making noise for your team. Other than that, as a sports fan, you'll still watch him on TV, the Heat are drawing revenue that Cleveland has been taking advantage of for years! And where does the Cavs ownership get off making negative statements about Lebron for any reason???!!! Lebron created so much more for that team than you could have ever dreamed of and you should be thanking him after you kiss his toes a thousand times over.

Its sad as a society that this is how we can be. We care so much about a team in which we dedicate all of our emotion and time into supporting them, but as soon as something goes to the wayside; as in an individuals decision to do what he wants and not what you want, we can turn hate and dislike to that person because he is no longer one of "you". I see why other countries want to blow us up and infest terror on our nation. It's little things like this that you all worry about instead of being supportive of an individuals personal free decision and let him/her pursue thier own happiness. I truly believe that its because one of two things....1) You never actually played at a competitive level of sport in which you would appreciate an athletes talents, not just who he/she plays for, or 2) You are mad because you don't have a million people following your every move, every hour of the day, every day of the week, every week of the year for the rest of your life. You have no fans of your own so you have to hate on someone who does. Spill all of your negative energy onto the court Thursday night and a person like Lebron will take it and turn it into positive energy, you will have no affect on his game, so go ahead and waste your breath. Meanwhile, look around you while your at the game, or at the bar, or wherever your watching, because he is still selling out the Q and he doesn't even play for the team anymore. Your welcome Cleveland, you just might make the playoffs in the East with a .500 record with all the other "talent" they surrounded Lebron with. You never got him the superstar sidekick he needed, so he went and tried it on his own. From Cleveland to South Beach for a better team???? Who wouldn't. Im rooting for the Heat in this new fued!

Thank you for reading.
