Dr. Vliet, you have no idea how many of your books I've sold for you. Actually, I've purchased quite a few of them also for others. I cannot thank you enough for this information. I hope these radio programs continue as you learn new information to share with us. This is information that is desperately needed by women. I refer other women to your website all the time and advise them of your radio programs.

What happened to this show? It was my favorite, and I hope it is coming back.

Dr. Vliet, I LOVE your books. Please keep them coming! I have PCOS and am also vegan. Can you please talk more in an upcoming show about soy? Is fermented soy OK? Is soymilk, silken tofu, soy yoghurt and TVP OK? I am going to ask my Dr. about using an estraidol patch. Is there a difference between using one derived from soy or wild yam? Why would estraidol from soy be OK? Is it because it has already been chemicaly converted? Finally, as one who suffered from anorexia as a teen, I now believe that my eating disorder issues and PCOS are inextricably linked. I never trusted my body and had this feat that I would wake up one morning and be obese. That happened in grad school. I gained 70 pounds -- half of me! -- eating a normal 1500 calories. I don't trust my body and am finding myself eating less and less. I've come to the conclusion that in order to heal the eating disorder issues that I need to be able to trust my body. Pretty difficult when I have no rational reason to do so.

I can't thank you enough for the very informative & trust-worthy data you present. I am further excited about the expert 2nd opinion reviews you're planning to offer via phone consult. The biggest problem seems to be finding a practitioner who 1. is willing to work collaboratively w/the patient and 2. who has a true desire to work w/an acknowledged expert in the field of women's health/hormones.

Thanks so much for the Straight Talk about Hormones show. It is a great way to learn about Hormones and Women’s health issues. I can’t listen to the show when it airs, but I make it a point to listen to each of the shows in the archives whether it sounds like it relates to me or not. So far I have found that each show adds to my knowledge and am glad that I haven’t missed any.

Thank you so much for all the info you are getting out on the air....I still am having trouble getting any dr in the north west to listen to me or help me try any hormone therapy. Ive left Multicare to opt for Group health thinking someone could help me but each group has said no you just need to live with you symptoms that what happens when you get 60....because of my weight gain all my # on everything else is up This just makes me so mad all this just keeps their patients keep coming in for worse problems such as heart attacts, diabetis etc. I am so discouraged...... but I keep trying with your help too....thanks

Your show on Weight and Hormones was very informative and enlightening. I also enjoyed listening to Shana. Hearing a true success story is very helpful and encouraging for those of us still struggling. Keep up the good work.

These shows are so important in the miasma of misinformation where so many people pretend to speak as hormone experts, but have nowhere near the knowledge and experience of Dr. Vliet. I am so grateful that she is there to help make women more informed customers and advocates for our health. BlogTalkradio, take note. This is the real thing. I wish that more doctors were as excited to test women's hormones as they are to hand out SSRI's. The weight gain and sex response, sex pain problems they cause do NOT just go away when you stop, and I'd not had those problems before.

I found your show to be very informative and educational. I do have a question: Which hormone, or lack of, would cause bladder leakage. Is it low estrodial or low testosterone or something else?

I would urge you to listen to this series of shows. Dr. Vliet understands the research and is extremely knowledgeable about hormonal issues women face. There is a lot of misinformation in the media and you may not be hearing the full story. Do yourself a favor, listen to her. She absolutely understands and cares the issues woman face and are having with hormonal issues. It is very hard to find someone with her level of expertise and experience!

After half a lifetime of attempting to manage polycystic ovarian symptoms, I’ve finally found a doctor, Dr Vliet, able to specifically target my underlying health issue, hormone imbalance. I still rely on my local primary care physician and gynecologist, but I never had full confidence in their understanding of the best and newest information as it pertains to my health. Dr Vliet has systematically, assessed and reassessed my serum levels and symptoms so that together we can zero-in closer and closer to the best function I can achieve. That includes mental, emotional and physical function. She also focuses on diet, exercise and supplementation. We’ve made great progress, particularly in the areas of sleep, heat regulation, mental focus, emotional balance and intestinal regularity. I strongly recommend her book, Screaming To Be Heard. It is filled with as much information as I could possibly want and beyond. It made me an expert on my own condition and able to recognize care givers that are woefully, mis- or uninformed.

Hi, Dr. Vliet. Really looking forward to your new show!

Whether you've been a patient of mine, or read my books, or attended one of my speeches, you know where I stand on issues involving hormones and women's health. My messages have been consistent over the years - and they've been proven reliable. Messages such as "Hormone is not a dirty word" or "Your health problems are NOT all in your head" or "Take charge of your health - and find a doctor who listens." As you know, the traditional news media have not always been receptive to these messages. But advances in technology have opened up a new opportunity to get these life-saving messages to ever-larger numbers of women. With this new understanding of technology, we decided to start a Blogtalk radio program called "Straight Talk". "Straight Talk" will be your chance to talk about the latest studies making the news, to clarify the meaning of "bioidentical," or to learn more about fibromyalgia, weight gain, insomnia and other hormone-related health issues. Occasionally I'll have a guest on with me - such as a newsmaker or a patient telling her story.
