Health Care blog review and discussion, with your host A. Patrick Jonas, MD aka, Dr Synonymous, starting with a few Tweets then Cindy on Health blogs about a possible common pathway for chronic diseases.  We get cheerful greetings from Dr Fatty and WarmSocks Valentine Day messages.  AFP Community Blog by Kenny Lin, MD then reflects on the status, or lack thereof, of Family Medicine- present and future.

Dr Jonas reads from and comments on Love is Never Enough by Aaron T. Beck, MD (psychiatrist) about how couples may overcome misunderstandings.  The nine steps to "Changing your own distortions" are reviewed from Dr. Beck's book, also.  Very useful information for any couple.

Next are items from The Four Fold Way by Angeles Arrien, PhD listing the elements of the four paths:  Warrior, Healer Teacher, and Visionary.  The Healer pays "attention to what  has heart and meaning".  A good message on Valentine's Day.  A few lame-ish items from Identity and the Life Cycle by Erik H. Erikson are followed by Dr Synonymous blog drafts that are smoldering in partially written mode.  These include trends for the year 2012, Marcus Welby, MD was angry in many shows, closing down Family Medicine, and odds and ends.

More on Family Medicine next week.
