Before Christ walks into your life, your spirit inside of you is dead. Your spirit is dead to God. You don’t know God. You have no communication with Him. Therefore, you are cut off from God and that means spiritual death. Look at Romans 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. "Salvation is more than repentance. It is certainly true that Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: . . . If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch and is withered . . . and they are burned, " Jn. 15:5,6.
Rom. 8, list 34 blessings for Saints. It warns against an empty profession and offers assurance for those who abide in Christ and bear fruit. "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live," Rom. 8:13. Born again, you are a new Creature in Christ! 2 Cor. 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new."
