Got Race? Eat Your Way To The Finish Line…
Thursday, June 26, 2013 @1 pm (CST) The Chef and I are going to be talking about RACE WEEK EATING. That’s right I didn’t say race day eating because your nutrition isn’t designed for 24 hours. Your body is so smart that it takes the nutrients you feed it and combines the amino acids into what you need, when you need it and how you need it based on your activity levels.
This Saturday, I’m going to be doing my first race (in lots of years) with my significant other and this will be her first race ever. The goal will be simple. When they say “GO”, we start running. We will, eventually, be back and hopefully not be the last ones coming across the finish line just before dark. I happen to know there are some 4,5 and 6 year-old runners and I’m pretty sure we can take them.
I used to compete in martial arts tournaments and fight so I know what do in that arena. I’ve been doing yoga for years and can tell you why eating Mexican food or barbeque just before class is a bad idea… so listen in on Thursday and find out how to eat for your event.
