We’re going to skip over the part where 78% of those people will have given up, failed or never gotten started within the first 3 months of the year and jump right into HOW TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS is you really, really want to… So let’s talk about short-term versus long-term goals because they are completely different. A short-term goal is like making a cake. It might be worth mentioning that the ingredients go into the cake in a specific order for a reason  For example if you put all the stuff together and leave out the eggs and put those in after you cook the cake you’re going to have a hot mess instead of a cake And interestingly enough most people approach long-term and life-changing goals in this manner. Today on Health Mind & Body radio… State Dependant Learning or… why do I still have the same problems over and over? Everyone has a one or even, several THINGS, PROBLEMS, SITUATIONS that repeat over and over. The same argument, spouse or significant other, with the kids or family, and that “something” that happens just before it seems you were going to climb out of the financial hole… So what’s causing this? It’s caused by “state dependant learning”. So what is STATE DEPENDANT LEARNING? What does this mean? It means that humans learn randomly. The learnings, education and information we retain is based on the current emotional state and it’s intensity, that we were in, during the learning. And the ability to retrieve that learning is dependant on re-accessing that emotional state often enough that we can generalize that learning into long-term memory so it will be available during time that we AREN’T in that emotional state Translation: If you were a happy person when you were a when you grew up then, when you’re in a happy mood you can remember all those happy times and things. Well just for fun and because it’s Thursday I thought I’d give you your wish and show you how to CHANGE ANY BELIEF just by using these questions. The principle is very simple. When you place two opposing beliefs in the same space the more powerful, ecological or empowering belief will win. It is also useful to have what belief you want in place of the old one so you get the change you want instead of “just a change”. As usual, I will recommend that if you’re driving your car (or doing some other activity) that you listen to the podcast later. This pattern is very powerful and when doing this you can, sometimes, experience, flushing, dizziness, sweating rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath… it’s kind of like being in love only different. No wonder very few have heard much about it for the last 60ish years, it works. The 1950’s was when the AMA (American Medical Association) let the proverbial “cat of out of the bag” and allowed laymen to perform hypnosis on “battle fatigued” veterans returning from Korea. Prior to this time, hypnosis had to be performed by a medical doctor and the AMA had certain guidelines about who specifically and how specifically you could perform, said hypnosis, and if you didn’t follow the rules… they’d take your license. The Medical Community hadn’t a mistake like that since they cured polio. If you cure a “dis-ease” or eliminate a problem you can’t prescribe drugs for it. I happen to know there are some 4,5 and 6 year-old runners and I’m pretty sure we can take them. I used to compete in martial arts tournaments and fight so I know what do in that arena.
