The Persecuted Church in History Endures Through the Power of the Spirit

Church history is filled with narratives of ruin, and horror done to wipe out the people of God.  These stories are not hidden from the church today, but they are ignored by the church today.  The church today is ahistorical.  It is not connected to the past or to the future.  It is only a present tense entity preoccupied only with its immediate ultimate concerns.  The historical Jesus as revealed in the New Testament documents is largely relegated to a minor role in the lives of its people.  If former statement were untrue the devil would not be in the pulpits across the country teaching lies to the people of God.  Read the book of Amos.
