First let me say this..... for those of you who are unfamiliar with Ravolution Multimedia, LLC you are truly missing out on a great innovation in the creative world. Ravolution Multimedia (as they are commonly known) is a media conglomerate that delivers a variety of entertainment and informational services to the world. Their most notable and wide spread offering is their online magazine "eXcape The Matrix" which is a very open and expansive e-zine that brings you art, music, entertainment, poetry, literary works, youth/adult interests, news and so much more. With reporters and correspondents on the East and West Coasts of the United States, Africa and many other locations through out the world, this exciting multimedia experience is a limitless cornucopia of experiences. Ravolution Multimedia also hosts two events in the Baltimore, Maryland area as well. The first is a monthly event called "The StoryTellers" which is a free form spoken word, poetry and music event that features up and coming artists as well as being an open mic opportunity to anyone who would like to contribute. The next event is a quarterly event called "The eXperience" which is a concert series which features up and coming musicians and performers from all over the country. The April edition of "The eXperience" featured Maryland's own Sol Edler and New York's jazz duo, Brown Baby Girl. To attempt to give you a minute by minute summary of the energy in this event would be a true waste of words, because this is something that you truly have to experience. There are performances, and then there are PERFORMANCES....and this event was definitely the latter, and one that you would leave you completely addicted to the artists and their music. Sol Edler opened the show with powerful, reworked versions of songs from his Songs of Solomon, Book 1 and every minute of this performance had the house applauding, grooving and begging for more. More notably, his performance of "Crush" (from Songs of Solomon, Book 1) was truly the highlight of his set and left the audience completely breathless. You could tell that his band was filled with an incredible energy that truly led to a top notch performance. But just when you thought that the show couldn't be any more powerful, the whole face of the game changed as Lorenda Robinson of Brown Baby Girl stepped up to the mike. Lorenda let the audience know up front that this was neither going to be a one sided, "you sit and watch me" kind of performance and that you were definitely going to get music that would leave your thoughts on jazz permanently changed. One of the most exciting moments of the evening was when the band launched into their rendition of "What You Won't Do For Love" which had everyone in the house singing along and grooving. Jamie showed the whole audience that he is definitely the musical master of Brown Baby Girl, but bassist Dan Asher laid down a groove on "Is It Alright" that was so seductive that the strings should have caught fire. To top all of this off, drummer James "Biscuit" Rouse laid down rhythms so solid that you couldn't stop nodding your head, clapping your hands or tapping your feet if you wanted to. As individual musicians, you could clearly see why each is worthy of being a part of Brown Baby Girl, but as a unit you would quick understand two things...That there's alot more fantastic music to come, and that they will be conquering the music world VERY soon. This was truly THE EXPERIENCE.... review written by Barron Parker (courtesy of The Dream Citadel Evolution Show and Dream Citadel Media Creations)*Check out our interviews with Sol Edler and Brown Baby Girl on the Dream Citadel Evolution Show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/dreamcitadelmedia
