    What's On My Mind? - I Choose by India Arie

    I Choose! These are very wise words. Everything that we have ever done in our lives stemmed from a choice we made. These words speak to me as I have learned so much lately about taking back my power and being the best person that I can be.

    Realizing that I am the only person in control of my feelings and my actions has empowered me again and in doing so has freed me to make the choices that are right for me.
    In the realization that feelings are also a choice, I am now at peace with many situations, that at one time I worried about endlessly . Our past can only dictate who we are if we let it.

    We have all been in what we considered to be terrible situations in our lives. We often have experienced many different painful things. When we dwell on these things we allow them to shape us into something we are not. But remember, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Learn what you can from it and let it go, you cannot change the past, make room for your JOY! Choose to be happy everyday and you will see more joy and love stream into your life.

    I choose to live in joy everyday!

    What's On My Mind? What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

    The title of this song totally reflects how I have been feeling for a while. What a wonderful world it is indeed! 

    I have been noticing the world around me much more recently. The trees are so much greener than they appeared before and the flowers are so very vibrant. It is as if I see the world in a whole new light with fresh eyes so to speak. The sky is so blue that I could get lost in the heavens above me and the white clouds seem to show me beautiful pictures all the time. I wonder if this is how Louis felt when he wrote this song. Rainbows have always seemed so sublime and magical to me as well.

    I see all of this every time I go outside and it fills me with joy. That joy is then carried over to the people that I meet in that day! I feel the love for everyone and from everyone whether they know it or not.The world seems a much happier place to me now with my new vision. Like wearing rose coloured glasses!

    I especially relate to the last section about children. I watch my two girls grow more everyday. It always amazes me that they can find the most simple daily things, like discovering how to make the adults around them laugh by just laughing themselves and discovering how clap for the first time, so magical and exciting. They will learn more then we ever will because we can pass down our knowledge while they also learn their own lessons everyday!

    I feel that this song is all about seeing the world through the eyes of a child and rediscovering all the beauty, joy and love that we now take for granted every day. Bring back that child like vision to your life and you too will see what a wonderful world we live in everyday!

    What's On My Mind? - Rise Up by The Parachute Club

    Rise Up was written and and recorded by a 1980's Canadian pop band called The Parachute Club. (I love my fellow Canadians! Hehehe!) This song seems very prophetic to me in regards to the energies and spiritual revolution that we are seeing in the world today.  It seems that they were setting their intentions to create the utopia that we all want! As their most popular song ever, I believe they brought the listeners together in co-creative manner and wether intentional or not, they had the effect of raising everyone's vibrations!

    There are several aspects of this song that have deep meanings for me. Rise up and say, show and share your power are are all very powerful statements in and of themselves. This to me is about taking back our power that we have given away in fear. To do this we must first realize that we have given our power away by believing that we cannot change ourselves, our situations our our world. In truth, all it takes is one choice and your life can be changed in an instant! Anything is possible! Once you reclaim your power, show others how they can do the same by being the change you wish to see in the world. Then share this reality with everyone and you will see the changes happen before your eyes! :)

    In the middle, they artists clearly ask for what they want to create. This is how we can all create the things we want in our lives! The intentions clearly speak for themselves! Power, Freedom, Love, Laughter, Peace. They also refer to our children breathing new life into this world. Such wisdom for an 80's pop band eh? They also talk about creating a land of our dreams, which are extra lyrics that I couldn't find on any other versions of the songs. Amazing how this version came to me first! :)

    In the chorus they refer to dancing into the sun, which brings me back to our lost connection with nature, the sun and the heavenly bodies that surround us! What a celebration it will be when we are all reconnected to out roots once more!

    My favorite parts are the phrases "Spirits time has come", "Woman's time has come" and "Everyone's time has come". Then they repeat "It's time, it's time' it's time"! Yes my Family, our time certainly has come! The feminine energy is returning and it is time for Us to create the world that we have always wanted and deep down inside have always searched for! Anything is possible once we make the choice to take back our power!

    So I will play this song to continue and fulfill the intentions that were set almost 30 years ago now. I hope that you will also focus you energies on these intentions with me as they affect us all separately and as One!
