Hey, we are black rain from sandy lake Saskatchewan. The band consists of Lenny our first cousin on bass, Ryan on lead guitar and lead vocals, and me, Jamie on the drums and vocals. We started playing instruments at an early age. After our parents got us miniature children instruments when i was five and Ryan was eight. The very first song we ever played was Satisfaction by the Stones. a song that we still jam everyone in awhile with our dad Glen Peekeekoot on lead vocals. Originally, we started the band with a couple of other cousins but they moved on to other things. However, Ryan and I were not ready to stop. So we gave lenny a crash course on bass one night and a couple of weeks later he was on stage with us damn near crapping his pants at the Little Red Reserve graduation dance. time moved on and we got to the point where we started writing our own songs. And eventually booked Audio Art studios in Saskatoon and recorded our first cd "Rain Came Down". Although it was well received and got radio play in Saskatchewan on numerous radio stations, we just felt that we didn’t do as good a job as we were capable of. And were eager to hit the studio again. In the summer of 2006 we finally hit the studio to record the cd that would become "Hundred Dollar Hickey". And this time, we got it right. We listened to it together, and just had the feeling of "yeh, this albums good". Although we were proud of "Wild Women,” our second single "Rez Girls" totally blew us away. That song went number one five weeks in a row. And even more Impressive is it cracked the charts nationwide in Canada. its debuted On Saturday April 6th at number thirty. Moreover, this week is supposed to climb a little up the charts. Who knows? Maybe it will go number one. We are a band that is always willing to play anywhere and everywhere. So, do not be afraid. call us. Our number is 306-468-2684 306-468-2684 . Or else phone our record label at http://www.myspace.com/blackrainonline
