Life Coach, counselor, Native activist- Grant Lawrence

I was born in Toledo Ohio. 4 brothers and a sister. Came from a broken home. Father an alcoholic and mental health problems. I think that my childhood has helped to understand issues kids go through. Parental abuse, alcoholism, drugs, cutting, suicidal ideation. You can ask me about some of the success we have had here in Gallup as far as youth suicide and depression? Raised by mother and step father. Mother had a tough life raising us but eventually she did well in business as a saleswoman. Mother manipulative and cold at times. Distant. Married at age 20 with 3 beautiful girls. Married for 30 years. One child teacher in Texas for Teach for America in the Rio Grande Valley. 2 other girls in college. As far as professional life, worked in Advertising, sales, insurance, Attended Law School, Owned my own business, fought one of the largest corporations in Ohio over unfair labor practices (my introduction to business and corporate ethics), got active in social issues, active in Green Party of Ohio, Wrote for the Green Party of Ohio's Web site and Newsletter, Sold business. Went back and got 2 masters degrees in counseling. School counseling and mental health counselor. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). Worked as a social worker in the inner city of Toledo for awhile. Moved to Northern New Mexico as a School counselor. Presently, I am a middle school counselor here in Gallup New Mexico. I work with mainly Navajo youth on social and emotional development. I have been practicing meditation for over 20 years. I am ecclectic spiritually but I consider myself a Buddhist. I know many religions very well. I have studied them for most of my life. I have been an active member in the Peace Movement. Worked hard with the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition against the Iraq War. I have had numerous spiritual experiences since my youth. I have seen spirits when younger. I have had reincarnation experiences. I have seen what I believe to be a Thunderbird. I bel
