A Sorry Self

Happiness is a learned state of being. Self-blame and despair exist when you do not know how to build happiness into your life. The foundation of a happy mind relies on self-confidence; but, what about life’s distressing events? How can you stay on a positive course when life is throwing curve-balls at you? When can you act assertively rather than reacting adversely?

Join me and my guests Mr. Kamran Khavarani and Mrs. Parisa Amirmostofian on A Moment with Self. Find out what a “poor me” attitude is and why “self-pity” exaggerates pain and suffering in A Sorry Self. Learn how self-worth and self-esteem can be increased by engaging in arts and discuss changing from a victim to a joyful person.

About my guests:

Mr. Kamran Khavarani is an innovative artist responsible for a new movement that is bound to breathe new life and passion into the art world: Abstract Romanticism. By combining unique movements of color with a play on emotions, Khavarani creates a rare fusion of Romanticism in an abstract form. He emphasizes the personal, emotional and dramatic through the use of exotic, literary or historical subject matter. Mr. Khavarani is also an architect and a philosopher who received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2011.

Mrs. Parisa Amirmostofian is an art therapist who has experienced life through many different lenses. Over thirty years of artistic training; several years of being a mid-wife, working with hospital settings in two continents; research in abnormalities of sperms; investigating hormonal correlations in breast cancer; and working as a life-coach/art therapist are just a few of her achievements. Parisa graduated from Loyola Marymount University and practices at the Jewish Family Services.
