Is She Bossy or Just a Born Leader?

The fact that a double-standard exists between the sexes in our society is not news to anybody. But the battle for equality is taking on a new face with the recently unveiled Ban Bossy Campaign, spearheaded by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and author of the best-selling book, Lean In.

According to Ms. Sandberg and many other notable women of influence like, former Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice and Girl Scouts USA CEO, Anna Maria Chávez, the word 'bossy' is more than just a harmless schoolyard tease. It is a negative put-down that discourages girls from aspiring to be the leaders they could be. 

Is a campaign against the use of a word really necessary? Is this feminism gone to far? Are we as a society robbing our girls of their full potential by labeling them as bossy when they may simply be more assertive than their peers?
