A returning solider ask the following question of his recent emotional experience:

·         DrBev, “What are they (military officer(s) talking about?  Suck what up?  Drive what on!”  What?  What!

Education & Knowledge:

Suck it up and drive on:  is an unhealthy shaming thought process.

·         Moreover - From an Emotions r us perspective, “in actual fact, stuffing our experiences in a box and never allowing it to be opened again;  Is a common practice which is often admired, embodied in the common phrase, “Suck it up and drive on”.   Can have debilitating effects which last for decades, with the signature signs of PTSD manifesting themselves in our relationships and in our professional lives.”

As my daddy, a world war 2 veteran use to say to me when he wanted me to “PAY ATTENTION”, Now daughter, he would summarized his fatherly lecture with “I said all that 2 say this.”  Well listeners DrBev answered the returning soldier,  authentically, “I question the statement that “most soldiers returning from war adjust with minor difficulties.”  What?  What! The Pentagon has reported that 20 percent of active-duty troops and 40 percent of reservists returning from Iraq or Afghanistan suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, although some experts believe that official figures are too low.
