Shaina Simmonsis a New Orleans native.  In 2009 She won the title of Miss Black Alexandria USA. Her platform was “Transforming the Community by Empowering Today’s Youth.” That same year, Shaina opened the What About the Children Foundation. Later that year she placed 2^nd runner up in the Miss Black Virginia USA Scholarship pageant and took home the Miss Elegance Award. Shaina is a recent graduate of Marymount Manhattan College in NY, NY where she received her B.A. in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Performance.
