By understanding the power of thought and learning to use this power rightly we create for ourselves true prosperity, happiness, and health and the life of our dreams. By the abuse of the power of thought we create for ourselves tragedy and ruin. A wholehearted commitment to learning the law of life within our minds and the practicing of this law for good, benefits our life and the lives of those around us. Jesus Christ came to earth to teach us one thing and one thing only. Jesus taught the “Kingdom of God”. People of his time period believed a physical kingdom was going to be established on earth and would be more powerful than any other kingdom, or government, they had ever known. Many people today believe the Kingdom of God is a place they will go to when they die. Jesus made it very clear that the Kingdom of God is within each one of us. He spoke it to the Pharisees in Luke 17:21 when they asked him when the kingdom would come. He said, ”The Kingdom of God is within you.” You may ask, “How can a kingdom be inside of me?” Jesus explained the Kingdom of God throughout his entire ministry. He spoke in parables of how the kingdom operates in us. For example, Jesus speaks in Matthew 13:31 that the kingdom is like a grain of mustard seed a man sowed in his field, and even though it is the smallest of all seeds, when it is grown, it becomes the greatest of all herbs. Again in Matthew 13:33 he speaks of how a woman puts yeast into three measures of dough until the whole batch is leavened. Our thoughts work the same way in our lives as the small grain of mustard seed and the small amount of yeast the woman used. The thoughts we plant in our own minds grow until they bear fruit. In the Greek, the word kingdom means realm of power. When Jesus spoke that the Kingdom of God is within us, he was saying we have the power of God in us and this power is the power of thought.
