During her entire career, Senator Wilson has stood up for those without a voice. As a school principal she stood up for her students and their families; and as a member of the Miami Dade County School Board, Sentor Wilson introduced reading labs and African-Ameerican History curriculum into our schools. It was while she was serving on the School Board that Senator Wilson saw the need for a program to intervene in the lives of at-risk youth. She founded the 5000 Role Models of Excellence program, which has become a national model for drop-out prevention programs. Senator Wilson is currently a Florida State Senator and is running for the Congressional District 17 seat. When Ivett jackson was only a small child, she blocked out the memories of the horrific and traumatized situations she endured from the hands of her family. The person who should have cared for her, her stepfather, was a Monster! Ivett's little mind was unable to comprehend all that happened. As an adult, Ivett has had ups and downs like most, but was always surrounded by people who cared. She is now successful and lives a happy and full life. She is an acclaimed author, model/actress, and an inventor.
