Reclaiming America

I am Doris Anne Beaulieu of Smithfield, Maine. My personal site Life’s Ultimate Test and profile has received the attention of the Presidential 2008 Obama campaign for striving to bring about change in an area of education that has been overlooked and left on the back burner. The result was accepting the honor of being the Ambassador of the state of Maine for the 2007-2008 Presidential Obama campaign yearbook.

Senator Barack Obama can bring new politics that are grounded, but yet progressive for our changing time in America.. Old politics no longer work and no longer are fit in our ever changing world. He speaks a language of truth with the courage and faith to bring about change in government that meets the needs of a wider range of Americans so we can regain our status in the educational world.

I support Senator Obama’s investment plan in early childhood education as it is truly a head start in education. We are behind other countries and Senator Obama will help us overhaul the whole educational system that is failing our young, including the laws I’m fighting that contradicts the "no child left behind" law. In the long run it brought out the wrong doers and left more children behind. We are failing our children and we need to clean this up or educational abuse will be the next abuse on the rise for our courts to deal with.

I support Senator Barack Obama in believing the time has come to start bringing our troops home as well. My son served two Tours of Duty in Iraq and as a mother I’m very concerned as to what has really entered the systems of our troops who have served our country. When we hear of head pain, suicides, and their thinking process to be so not themselves, we must ask what really has happened. Has the war within them come home to be fought here? VA needs to give Americans some fast answers before we bring all our troops home. Thank you Senator Barack Obama for the support of job protection for family members caring for these soldiers.

I have yet another reason I support Senator Obama. It is Senator Obama’s plan to eliminate taxes for senior citizens with incomes of less than $50,000 a year. Life for seniors is hard enough here in Maine with the high cost of heating oil just to stay warm. Haven’t we put our seniors through enough? Please join me in voting for Senator Barack Obama as the next president to fix an old system that no longer works.

We do not need McCain who people say " we do not know what to expect from him". A Mom of five children who’s heart, mind and soul will be with her children first, specially the youngest who must have Mom. My life and those of our nation does not belong in this set of hands.
