We are honored to welcome Ms. Claudette Rogers-Robinson, “The First Lady of Motown” a title given to her by Motown founder Mr. Berry Gordy to our show. At a young age she would join a group that would forever change her life; Claudette was a member of the singing group The Matadors, later renamed The Miracles, a few years later, she married lead singer Smokey Robinson and the rest is history. Find out what it was like to be a member of the first Motown group to be on national television (American Bandstand), or what her favorite song is (written by Smokey to her and why). She’ll talk about the recent honor with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, her connection to the national Rhythm & Blues Foundation and the HAL Awards and her recent trip to the White House.
