Doctors of the USA welcomes Bill Long, Director, Center for Radon and Air Toxics, to talk about how to protect yourself and your family from radon. Listen in as he shares the dangers of radon and how you can protect your family’s health by testing your home for radon gas in 2014.

As Americans across the country look for ways to improve their health this New Year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is highlighting radon testing and mitigation as a simple and affordable step to significantly reduce the risk for lung cancer. Radon is a natural colorless, odorless radioactive gas, and is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, but testing for radon and reducing elevated levels when they are found can make your home healthier and safer. Twenty-one thousand Americans die from radon related lung cancer each year. By fixing elevated levels in your home, you can help prevent lung cancer while creating a healthier home for you and your family.

Bill Long is the Director of the Center for Radon and Air Toxics in EPA’s Indoor Environments Program. He has over 20 years of experience directing national and international environmental programs to improve air quality and save lives at the US EPA. Bill specializes in the design and implementation of leadership campaigns to achieve national-level results.
