In this episode, Doctors of the USA presents Dr. Peter Curcione. Dr. Curcione explains what an Orthopedic Surgeon does and when you may need one.

Dr. Curcione is both an osteopathic physician and a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon in Fort Myers. A partner in the Athletic Orthopedic Reconstruction Center (with offices in Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres), Dr Curcione has served patients in Fort Myers and Southwest Florida since 1997. He specializes in joint replacement surgery and utilizes minimally invasive procedures including the anterior approach to hip replacement. This approach is less invasive than traditional hip replacement, requiring a smaller incision (about 3 to 4 inches long at the front or anterior of the hip) and leads to reduced scarring and minimizes the risk of muscle damage.
