Bubbas Bookshelf is a weekly book discussion show,  that attempts to wade though the massive amount of information published in categories from Back-to basics to the Zombie Apocalypse. This week: Have you every wondered what it would be like to survive an economic collapse? Well the Bubba Bookshelf is proud to have as This weeks guest Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre, Author of the book "Surviving The Economic Collapse", and owner of the blog "Surviving in Argentina". This is a man who has experienced what a lot of us fear. Surviving the collapse of ones country with your family! A few words from Fernando: My name is Fernando Aguirre and I´ve been writing about survival and preparedness from the financial crisis perspective since the economy collapsed in my country, Argentina, in 2001. Long story short after a period of huge debt, 25% unemployment and social instability during 2001 our country defaulted on its national debt, 132 billion, the largest default in known history. Soon after banks closed their doors to avoid a bank run and kept people´s money, cash ran out of ATMs fast, rioting and looting became widespread across the country. A few days later out currency devaluated losing 75% of its purchasing value. In spite of current positive news about the Argentine economy (mostly thanks to the government now controlling the media by law) the simple truth is that we are the top 3 country in terms of inflation, right after Congo and Venezuela. What appeals to many Americans is that we´re ahead of what many people think will eventually happen in USA. While I tend to be cautious and dont believe the US economy will fully collapse like ours did, there´s still countless similarities and lessons to be learned through our experience.
