Backwoods Home Magazines – Self Reliance Expozed

On todays show we will be doing a wrap up of the expo and speaking with Sequoya Cross of Backwoods Solar. Sequoya started her solar career as Vice President of Operations for AEE Solar, one of the country's foremost solar distributors. She now co-owns, and is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Backwoods Solar, one of the oldest and most respected off-grid solar, wind, and micro-hydro suppliers in the country. She and her company specialize in customized solutions for remote areas all over the world; working with installers, NGOs, and end users designing and supplying the best materials for each project. Her passion is extending the reach of energy accessibility through her work with multiple organizations and as an Energy Access Practitioner Network Member for the UN Sustainable Energy for All Initiative. She has co-owned and managed a marketing and advertising agency in Northern California, has a strong financial background working within the banking industry as well as managing small business accounting and bookkeeping for over 20 years. She enjoys giving back to her community and has served within several non-profits, including Board Chair of CASA of Humboldt. She is currently serving as Treasurer for the NorCal Solar Energy Association and in her spare time she hikes, bikes, and dances.
